Karnal, November 22: DAV PG College student Samrat Rana has brought glory to the nation, state, and college by winning two gold and one silver medals at the ISSF World Championships in Egypt. The competition, held from November 6th to 18th, showcased his outstanding talent and bested shooters from around the world.
Vice Chancellor and College Principal Professor Dr. Rampal Saini welcomed Samrat with sweets and presented him with a check of ?51,000 on behalf of the college.
The Principal said that students should take inspiration from Samrat Rana and pursue sports. Sports not only provide health and respect but also help ward off social evils like drug addiction. He said that athletes are the pride of the nation, and India is establishing a new identity in the global sports arena.
He also appreciated the guidance of Dr. Jitendra Chauhan, Head of the Department of Physical Education, due to whose inspiration many students of the college are winning medals at the national and international level.
