Karnal, October 26: Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan honored Balraj Panwar, who won the gold medal at the Asian Rowing Championships 2025, by presenting him a shawl in village Kaimla, Gharaunda constituency, today. He expressed his congratulations and best wishes to Balraj Panwar, who has brought glory to the country and the state in the sporting arena. He also wished him a bright future and expressed hope that he will continue to display his talent and reach new heights.
It is noteworthy that Balraj Panwar, a resident of village Kaimla (Gharaunda) in this district, was the only Indian rower to participate in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, competing in the men's singles event. He finished 23rd overall at the Olympics. He also won a bronze medal at the Asian and Oceanian Olympic Qualification Regatta. He finished fifth in Final D of the men's singles scull event at the Paris Olympics.
He brought glory to the country by winning a gold medal at the Asian Rowing Championships in 2025. He took up rowing in 2020. He serves in the Indian Army.
