Karnal, September 26:- A public grievance hearing programme was organised today at the PWD Rest House in Gharaunda, chaired by Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan. Mr Kalyan listened to the problems of people from the area for more than four hours and directed the concerned officials to resolve them.
The Speaker heard people's grievances during the weekly public hearing programme from 11 a.m. to around 3 p.m. today. Some of the grievances were collective while others were individual. A large number of people had reached the Rest House as early as 10 a.m. with their problems and demands. The Speaker listened to people's grievances while standing in the sun for nearly an hour. Thereafter, everyone who reached the Rest House met the Speaker one by one. He directed the concerned officials to resolve the problems without delay.
During the public hearing programme, residents of Daha demanded construction of a hall at the Arya Samaj Bhawan, while residents of Prem Nagar sought construction of streets and a community centre. Residents of Kunda Kalan demanded completion of the Kashyap Chaupal construction work. Similarly, villagers demanded completion of the Bairagi Chaupal in Harisinghpura, paving of the unpaved streets in Anokha Colony, construction of an Ambedkar Bhawan and paving of the farm access road in Shekhpura Jagir, and construction of a library in Ghoghripur. Besides, demands were raised for completing the road work from Mundi Garhi to Balhera and Gagsina to Furlak, and for starting the construction of a community centre in village Kohand at the earliest.
On the occasion, SDM Anubhav Mehta, Tehsildar Arvinder Yadav, Executive Engineer of the Panchayat and Development Department Narayan Dutt, Market Committee Chairman Rajkumar Paliwal, Municipal Committee Secretary Ravi Prakash Sharma, XEN Electricity Corporation Rajiv Dhillon, BDPO Somvir Khatkar, former Chairperson Nirmal Bairagi, BJP District General Secretary Subhash Kashyap and officials from various departments were present.
