Ambala, November 5 (R. Singh):- Indian National Lok Dal state spokesperson Onkar Singh has accused the Haryana government of allegedly misusing government machinery during the inauguration ceremony of the martyrs’ memorial and the rally addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that, according to information received from employees, approximately 1,100 government Roadways buses were used for the event. The deployment of such a large number of government buses for the rally caused considerable inconvenience to ordinary passengers. People faced a shortage of buses and transportation difficulties in reaching their destinations.

Onkar Singh said that the concern was not limited to the use of government buses; the event had also affected children’s education. In the name of organising the rally, many schools had to remain closed for two days, and teachers were also assigned duties to take children to the rally venue. The question is whether the state’s education system is so weak that school classes have to be suspended for a political rally and teachers removed from their primary responsibilities to assign them the task of gathering a crowd.

He said that children are the future of the country. Regular schooling is essential for their intellectual development, discipline and future. Repeated disruptions to studies due to political events affect children’s syllabus, disturb their academic continuity and even make it difficult for teachers to complete their assigned academic work. Those who should have the opportunity to receive better education in schools and develop scientific thinking and the ability to ask questions are instead being involved in organising political events.

Onkar Singh remarked sarcastically that the government seemed more interested in organising its rallies than improving the education system. The purpose of education is to develop children into aware, rational and responsible citizens who understand their rights, not to make them part of the crowd at political party events. He said that the inauguration of the martyrs’ memorial was a government event, but the way it was linked to a BJP rally and government resources were used naturally raises the question: Was a government event allegedly turned into a BJP political event? Who ordered the use of government buses, government employees, schools and teachers?

Onkar Singh directly questioned the government and administration, asking which officer or department had ordered the deployment of approximately 1,100 government Roadways buses for the rally. Was the prescribed fare and other expenses paid to the Roadways Department for the use of these buses? If payment was made, what was the total amount deposited by the government treasury or the BJP organisers? If the buses were provided without payment, who would be held responsible for the financial loss suffered by the government transport corporation? He also questioned who had ordered the school holidays and assigned teachers’ duties for the rally.

Onkar Singh demanded that the government make public complete details of the expenditure and use of government resources in the entire matter and order an impartial inquiry.
