Malda:- The country has got its first Vande Mataram sleeper train, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. This train will travel at a speed of 180 km per hour. This train will cover the 958 km distance from Howrah in West Bengal to Kamakhya in Guwahati in 14 hours.
1128 passengers can travel in this train. This train has 16 coaches, out of which 11 will be AC ??3 tier, four AC 2 tier and one First AC coach. The fare of the third AC of this sleeper train has been kept at Rs 2300. The fare of the second AC will be Rs 3000 and the fare of the first AC will be Rs 3600.
While flagging off this train, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the children inside the train. The Prime Minister's Office issued a statement saying that this train has been built to meet the growing transportation needs of modern India.
This train will have advanced safety features. On this occasion, the Railway Minister said that the air fare on the Guwahati-Howrah route is usually between six and eight thousand, but in the Vande Mataram sleeper, passengers will be able to travel for just Rs 2300 and reach their destination
