Hoshiarpur/Daljit Ajnoha:- An important meeting of football clubs and DFA representatives of Hoshiarpur district was held today under the chairmanship of Iqbal Singh Khera, Secretary, District Football Association. The meeting discussed the Punjab Football Association elections scheduled for October 21. All football clubs unanimously stated that they would not allow any kind of irregularity in the elections and that the election should be conducted according to the rules of the All India Football Federation. They said that if anyone tried to violate the law and do anything wrong, they would firmly oppose it.
Iqbal Singh Khera said that for the past 30-40 years, several clubs have been working day and night, with the support of NRI brothers, for the betterment of football and the bright future of players. However, he alleged that some people have been trying for the past two years to gain control by creating a spectacle in the name of football, which would not be tolerated at any cost.
