Chandigarh, September 16:- Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh visited Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 10, and Government Model Sanskriti Primary School, Daulatabad, in Faridabad district on Wednesday. The Governor reviewed all arrangements at these schools, including education, drinking water, cleanliness and electricity. He also visited the classrooms of the primary wings of these schools and interacted directly with the children. The Governor particularly motivated the children to study with dedication and become good citizens in life.
After visiting the schools, Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh, while addressing the parents and students present at the programme, said that the holistic development of children is possible only when parents and teachers jointly discharge their responsibilities. He said education is not limited to books alone, but sports, health, discipline and moral values also play an important role in the holistic development of children. He said it is essential to provide better basic facilities in schools, with clean water, toilets and sports equipment being among the key requirements. He said the government is continuously making efforts to develop these facilities and a special budget is also being made available in this direction. On the occasion, the Governor also announced scholarships for economically needy students in both schools and a grant of Rs. 10 lakh each for development works and various facilities in the schools.

Parents Should Identify Children’s Talents and Encourage Them to Move Forward
Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh called upon parents at the programme to recognise that every child possesses a different kind of talent. One child may perform well in sports, while another may excel in studies. Parents should identify their talents and encourage them to move forward.

Teachers Are Guides and Sources of Inspiration for Children
Emphasising the role of teachers, Prof. Ghosh said teachers are not merely providers of knowledge, but also guides and sources of inspiration for children. He said teachers should inculcate discipline, self-confidence and a sense of patriotism among children. The Governor said better coordination between parents and teachers is very important to provide children with the right direction. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the future of children can be made bright and they can become responsible citizens of the country. On the occasion, he also honoured Faridabad’s Asian Junior Hockey gold medallist player Kunal Tewatia, FIA President Raj Bhatia, who provides financial support to the school, Indo Auto Tech Director Satish Jain, FIA CSR Panel Chairman representative Siddharth Chawla, and Escorts Kubota.

Governor Takes Detailed Review of School Complexes
Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh conducted a detailed inspection of the entire complexes of both schools along with the classrooms. He thoroughly inspected the drinking water arrangements and toilets. During the inspection, he directed that the cleanliness arrangements be completely improved. He also expressed concern over the absence of a playground at the school and directed that arrangements be made for a playground for the children. Besides, he sought information about the mid-day meal and directed that nutritious food be ensured for the children. He also issued necessary directions to the staff members regarding the arrangements at the school complexes.
