Chandigarh , February 9:- Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana has become a powerhouse of sports , whose soil not only grows crops but also produces champions in the field . Now Haryana is not only the land of farmers and youth , but has also made its identity in the entire country as the land of sports . Today, the echo of Haryana is heard from the National Games to the Olympics . The aim of the government is that no talented player of the state should be left behind due to lack of resources .
Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini is addressing the people present after inaugurating the Chief Minister's Cup and distributing awards to the medal winners of the 38th National Games at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurugram on Monday . He presented awards worth around Rs 24 crore to 417 medal winners and participating players of the National Games . He also honored hockey player Padma Shri Savita Punia . He said that this event is a celebration of Haryana's sports talent , discipline , hard work and determination and today this holy land of Gurugram is colored in the colors of two sports festivals . The soil of Haryana not only produces crops but also produces champions . History is created in sports by sweating on this land . Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh , MLA from Pataudi Bimala Chaudhary , Principal Secretary of the Sports Department Vijay Singh Dahiya and Director of the Sports Department Partha Gupta were present in the program .
Chief Minister Mr. Nahib Singh Saini said that sports platforms give wings to the dreams of our youth and the players resolve to take the pride of the nation to new heights . The players of the state have made their mark in the entire country by performing exceptionally in the 38th National Games organized in Uttarakhand . 689 players of the state participated in 33 different games and showed their strength , dedication and talent and won 153 medals, proving that Haryana has become a powerhouse of sports today . In these games, the players have won 48 gold , 47 silver and 58 bronze medals with their years of hard work , sacrifice and struggle .
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the players are a source of inspiration for the state . The government is giving an incentive of Rs. 7 lakh to the gold medal winner of the National Games , Rs. 5 lakh to the silver medal winner and Rs . 3 lakh to the bronze medal winner. Along with this, an amount of Rs. 51 thousand each has been provided to the participants as an incentive . The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the parents and coaches of the players , due to whose inspiration these players have become the pride of the country and the state .
Encouraging the participants of the Chief Minister's Cup, the Chief Minister said that 3600 players are participating in the 6 sports competitions of this three-day Chief Minister's Cup . In this cup, the gold medal winner will be given a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh , the silver medal winner Rs. 70 thousand and the bronze medal winner Rs. 50 thousand . Organizing this cup is a symbol of the state government's thinking , in which talent is being identified and promoted from every village and every city . The state's wrestlers , boxers , athletes , shooters , hockey and many other sports players are bringing glory to the country . This is a matter of pride for all of us .
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that under the skillful guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, programs like Khelo India and Fit India have given a new direction to the sports culture in the country . Today, sports are not just competitions , but have become a medium of nation building . Health , youth are the foundation of a developed India . He said that the conduct of the players , hard work will give direction to the future generations . Players should always make discipline , humility and patriotism the basis of their lives . Never get discouraged by defeat and never get proud of victory , both of these give an opportunity to move forward equally .
Budget doubled for sports in Haryana ?
The Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to the welfare and promotion of sportspersons in Haryana . The government has spent Rs 989 crore in the last 11 years on developing sports facilities across the state . The budget of the sports department has also been increased by more than double . He said that in the year 2014-15 it was Rs 275 crore . The BJP government has increased it to Rs 602 crore 18 lakh in the current financial year . The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving cash awards of up to Rs 6 crore to Olympic , Paralympic and other international medal winners .
Sports facilities being expanded - Chief Minister? ??
The Chief Minister said that the state government has established a Sports University in Rai district, Sonipat . At present, the state has 3 state-level sports complexes , 21 district-level sports stadiums , 25 sub-divisional stadiums , 163 Rajiv Gandhi Rural Sports Complexes , 245 rural stadiums and 382 indoor gyms in villages . Apart from this , 10 swimming pools , 11 synthetic athletics tracks , 14 hockey astroturfs , 2 football synthetic surfaces and 9 multi-purpose halls have also been constructed . Also, facility centers have been constructed in the offices of District Sports and Youth Programme Officers in 16 districts of the state at a cost of Rs. 3 crore .
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the government is also providing sports equipment to the players . For this, Haryana Sports Equipment Provision Scheme has been made . Under this, 15 thousand 634 players have been provided with equipment . Currently, 1 thousand 472 sports nurseries are functioning in the state . More than 37 thousand children are receiving regular training in these nurseries . In these nurseries, players of 8 to 14 years are given financial assistance of Rs. 1500 and players of 15 to 19 years are given financial assistance of Rs. 2 thousand per month .
The Chief Minister said that to ensure the secure future of the players, the government has implemented the Haryana Excellence Players Service Rules , 2021. Under these, 550 new posts have been created in the Sports Department and 231 players have been given government jobs . Also, a rehabilitation center has been started for the players at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula .

With the schemes of the Central Government like Khelo India and TOPS, international level training and modern facilities are being made available to the players , while under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, the state government is providing a strong and permanent platform to the players through schemes like CM Cup , Sports Nursery , Sports Academy and Mission Olympics 2036 Vijay Bhav . The government's specific goal is that the players of Haryana should bring glory to the country by winning medals in the 2036 Olympic Games . Under the Vijay Bhav Yojana, sports academies , excellence centers and international level training facilities are being developed . Free treatment up to Rs 20 lakh , insurance cover , low interest rate loans and good coaching have been ensured for injured players . He said that the increase of more than 33 percent in the sports budget by the Central Government shows that today sports have become an important basis for nation building . Haryana sportsmen are playing a leading role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047 and the Central and State Governments are jointly providing them with all possible support and opportunities.
