Garhshankar:- Keeping the 350th martyrdom centenary in mind, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee under the leadership of President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami organized a Gurmat Samagam dedicated to the 350th martyrdom centenary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar under the supervision of Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira.
During the Gurmat Samagam organized at the College Gurdwara Sahib, after the Bhog of Sri Sehaj Path, the eminent storyteller Bhai Nachhattar Singh Brahmjit shared his thoughts with the Sangat and shared the history of the unparalleled martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with the Sangat and inspired them to follow the path shown by the Gurus. Prof. Ramanpreet Singh and the students' Kirtan Jatha enthralled the congregation with a beautiful Kirtan.
Kathavachak Prince Singh shared Gurmat thoughts with the congregation. Dhadi Manjot Singh Azad and fellow students' Dhadi Jatha enthralled the congregation by singing enthusiastically. International Sikh preacher Giani Balbir Singh Changiara, while sharing the pages of martyrdom history with the congregation, inspired them to take guidance from the history of martyrdom of the Gurus and the martyrs. He appealed to the congregation to participate actively in the Martyrdom Day celebrations.
College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, in his address, inspired the students to take inspiration from the history of martyrs and to adopt the teachings of the Gurus in their lives. He said that the example of martyrdom given by the Gurus to save non-religious people is not found anywhere else in the world. He thanked the groups and personalities who attended the event. Dr. Harwinder Kaur and Amritpal Singh took charge of the stage.
Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, member of the Interim Committee, social worker Darshan Singh Pinka, Jarnail Singh Palli Jhikki, Paramjit Kaur USA, Giani Bhagat Singh Chak Hajipur, Baba Satpal Singh, Tarlok Singh Arora, Engineer Parvinder Singh, Bakshish Singh Fauji, Captain Gurdev Singh Bham, Kulwinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, college staff and students were present at the event. At the end, a hearty langar was served.
