Jalandhar: - Like every month, a religious function was organized on the occasion of Sangrand at Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Matti Sahib Ji in village Droli Kalan of Jalandhar district. During which, first, after fulfilling their auspicious wishes, the sangat from home and abroad started Sri Akhand Path Sahib at the Guru Ghar. They were offered a series of Sri Akhand Path Sahib Jind Bhog.
Later, the leading Kirtani Jathas of the Panth delighted the sangat with the beautiful Kirtan of Gurbani. And the Gurdwara Committee honored the members of the families who conducted Sri Akhand Path Sahib according to the rituals of the Guru Ghar with the blessings of the Guru Ghar by giving them Siropas. On this occasion, a free general medical camp was organized by the organizers under the leadership of President Jathedar Manohar Singh Ji with the support of NRI and social worker Jatinder J. Minhas and others.
In which the needy patients of the area were examined by doctors specializing in various diseases and given basic medicines. On this occasion, senior journalist Daljit Ajnoha had a special conversation with Gurdwara Sahib Committee President Jathedar Manohar Singh and others about the history of the Guru Ghar and the public welfare works carried out by the committee from time to time.
During which he said that the Guru Ghar Committee helps the poor and needy people of the area from time to time and organizes medical camps. He further said that the poor people of the villages of the area used to have a lot of difficulty in getting a vehicle to go to the hospital for treatment. In view of which, the Guru Ghar Committee provides ambulances to them at a very low cost.
He said that after the death of any person, a vehicle is provided free of cost to take his body to the crematorium. He expressed concern over the current situation and said that in today's time, the children of many Sikh families are moving away from Sikhism, which is a matter of concern and the Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Matti Ji Committee motivates the youth from time to time to connect with Sikhism, Bani and Bane. Turban decorating competitions are also organized. Information about history is also given to connect children with Sikhism, for which religious events are organized from time to time.
