Patiala, October 5 (Manpreet Singh):- Gas Agency Workers Union IFTU, Patiala district, will continue its struggle against Surindra Gas Service until its just and legitimate demands are accepted. Issuing a statement to the press today, October 5, 2026, district president Baljinder Singh Lakhomajra said that the owner of Surindra Gas Service has not paid salaries to workers who have been working at the agency for the past 20 years for the last 10 months.
He said that when the workers of Surindra Gas Service came together and demanded their salaries, the owner forcibly removed them from work without giving them any notice. In view of this, the organisation was compelled to launch a struggle.
He said that since September 29, 2026, workers from different gas agencies have been gathering under the banner of the organisation and have been compelled to hold protest rallies continuously.
General Secretary Surjit Singh said that if the salaries of the dismissed workers are not paid and they are not reinstated at the earliest, the organisation will be compelled to intensify its struggle in collaboration with other public organisations and social service institutions. He said that the entire responsibility for any such situation would lie with the owner of Surindra Gas Service.
Senior District Vice-President Satpal Singh Sunyarehri and Finance Secretary Avtar Singh were present at today's protest rally. Presidents of different agencies, Satigur Singh Nabha, Raghbir Singh Nabha, Jarnail Singh, Kesar Singh, Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Jasbir Singh, Dheeraj Kumar and Manjit Singh, along with other colleagues, were also present.
