Moonak/Sangrur, September 30:- As part of the massive campaign being conducted by the District Legal Services Authority, Sangrur, to implement the schemes of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), a free medical camp was organised today at village Maha Singh Wala. The camp was organised as per the directions of the Hon’ble Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, and under the guidance of the Hon’ble District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Sangrur.
Giving information in this regard, Ashish Thathai, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Sangrur, said that more than 150 persons benefited from the camp. During the camp, free medical examinations of village residents and screening for non-communicable diseases were conducted, and free medicines were also provided.
Eye specialist Dr. Ramanpreet Kaur and Medical Officer Dr. Sahil, along with their team, examined the persons who attended the camp and provided health services. Through this camp, village residents got an opportunity to avail themselves of medical services in their own village and to get their health-related problems examined by specialist doctors.
Along with medical services, the people attending the camp were also informed about the free legal aid provided through the Legal Services Authorities.
Ashish Thathai said that through this initiative, along with health services, legal awareness was also taken to the people so that they could avail themselves of medical facilities as well as become aware of legal assistance. He encouraged persons requiring legal help to contact the District Legal Services Authority, Sangrur, for information and assistance regarding free legal aid.
The camp was part of the massive campaign being conducted to take the benefits of NALSA schemes to the grassroots level and increase awareness among people about legal services.
