Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, October 21- On the occasion of Police Martyrdom Memorial Day, floral tributes were paid to the officers and jawans of the forces and police who were martyred in various states of the country under the leadership of DIG Satinder Singh of Ludhiana Range at the local ITI Ground. DIG Satinder Singh said that the valuable sacrifices of the martyred officers and jawans can never be ignored and these sacrifices are a golden history to keep the unity and integrity of the country strong.
While paying homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs along with the family members of the martyrs, DIG Satinder Singh said that it is a matter of pride for the Punjab Police that many officers and jawans of Punjab did not even care about their lives for the unity and brotherhood of the country, which is a source of inspiration for the entire force. He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs further strengthen the spirit of maintaining law and order and brotherhood in the state in the Punjab Police. He said that the torch lit by the martyrs for the protection of the country and the state will always be kept burning and no mercy will be used against those who disturb the peace of Punjab.
DIG Satinder Singh said that on October 21, the sacrifices of the officers and jawans of the police and central forces are remembered in different states in the country because on this day in 1959, at a place called Hot Spring in Ladakh, Chinese troops ambushed a CRPF troop led by Sub-Inspector Karam Singh and martyred 10 jawans. He said that everyone should take this resolve that the honor, dignity, pride of the country and the pride of the Punjab Police should always be maintained. He said that Punjab Police is a brave and courageous force which has shown courage and fortitude in facing threats like terrorism and other risky situations and has succeeded in every mission. DIG Satinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, SSP Dr Mehtab Singh, Additional Sessions Judge Baljinder Singh Mann and other officers along with the family members of the martyrs paid tribute to the martyrs. On this occasion, the family members were given tokens of respect by the District Police and the DIG listened to the complaints and issues of the family members. He assured that these issues will be considered carefully and a suitable solution will be ensured soon.
Earlier, a condolence parade was held and DSP Raj Kumar read out the names of the officers and jawans of the forces of various states of the country and Punjab Police, remembering their sacrifices. On this occasion, the family members of the martyrs Paramjit Kaur, Harvinder Singh, Balwant Kaur, Gurmej Kaur, Surjit Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur, Gurmej Kaur, Amandeep Singh, Kamlesh Rani, Shakuntala Devi, Subhash Chander, Monica Sharma, Dharampal Bains, Gurmeet Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Surjit Kaur, Gurdial Singh, Minder Kaur, Gurmeet Ram, Ajay, Gurbaksh Singh, Bhagwant Singh and Resham Kaur were honored.
SP Headquarters Iqbal Singh, SP (Investigation) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, SP (PBI) Jashandeep Singh Gill, Parade Commander Jaspreet Singh and senior police officers were present on this occasion.
