Patiala, 25 September:- A fire safety mock drill was conducted at Global Eye Hospital. Global Eye Hospital was honoured as the best hospital. Hospital Head Dr. Manpreet Singh said that ensuring the safety of staff members, patients, the public and property, and providing rescue and assistance during emergencies, is their utmost responsibility. Therefore, fire safety and mock drills for saving valuable lives during emergencies are being conducted at the hospital every six months. While sharing this information, he expressed gratitude for the valuable training provided by Shri Kaka Ram Verma, Disaster Management, First Aid and Fire Safety Trainer, and Inspector Sarabjit Kaur of the Punjab Police Traffic Education Cell, as well as for the certificates of appreciation presented to Global Hospital as a good hospital and to doctors as health educators.
Shri Kaka Ram Verma and Inspector Sarabjit Kaur provided information about the causes of incidents involving fires, gases, electricity and petroleum products, types of fires, extinguishing fires, and safety of oneself, patients, their relatives and people in the surrounding area when a fire breaks out.
They said that by conducting training sessions and mock drills once or twice a year in hospitals, factories, hotels, dhabas, petrol pumps and educational institutions, 90% of accidents, loss of life and property can be reduced.
Sarabjit Kaur appealed that in order to prevent natural, seasonal and man-made disasters, domestic incidents and road accidents in the future, the rules and laws of safety, humility, tolerance, patience and peace should be followed.
