Chandigarh, September 16:- The Department of Mathematics of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organised an expert lecture on “Cloud Computing Overview (AWS)” in L-30 on September 16, 2026, as part of the Industry–Academia Expert Lecture Week (September 14 to 18, 2026).
Mr. Vipin Kumar, Director, U-Net Solutions, Moga, Punjab, delivered the lecture as the expert speaker. The objective of the session was to familiarise students with the fundamental concepts of cloud computing and its applications in modern information technology and engineering.
During the lecture, Mr. Vipin Kumar gave a detailed introduction to cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS). He explained the fundamental concepts and importance of cloud-based computing and highlighted how cloud platforms provide scalable and flexible computing resources. The speaker discussed various aspects of AWS and highlighted its relevance in contemporary technological applications.
The speaker also explained that firewall security plays an important role in controlling network traffic, restricting unauthorised access and protecting applications and data from potential security threats. The discussion helped students understand that security is an essential component when deploying and managing cloud services.
The lecture was highly informative and engaging. Students, faculty members and professionals from the industry participated enthusiastically in the session. The interactive question-and-answer session held at the end of the lecture enabled participants to get their queries addressed and gain in-depth information about career opportunities available in technology-driven industries.
