Hoshiarpur:- MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali announced that the grand religious event “Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam” (An Evening in the Name of Lord Shiva) will be organised on August 11 at Dussehra Ground, Hoshiarpur. The event will commence at 6:30 p.m., and renowned singer Kailash Kher will enthrall devotees with a special devotional performance.
On Saturday, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Deepak Bali, accompanied by administrative officials, visited Dussehra Ground to review the preparations for the event. They inspected various arrangements and directed officials to ensure timely and efficient management of devotees’ convenience, security, traffic regulation, parking facilities, drinking water, sanitation, medical assistance, and other essential services.
MLA Jimpa said that the programme is being organised on a grand scale and is expected to attract thousands of devotees. Keeping this in view, all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the event.
Deepak Bali said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is extending full support to ensure smooth arrangements and adequate facilities for the devotees. He further informed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal will attend the programme as devotees to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.
He said that the event is not merely a religious programme but also a symbol of faith, culture, and social harmony, which will further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, unity, and communal harmony in society.
MLA Jimpa stated that the programme does not belong to any single organisation but represents the collective faith and support of the people of the entire region. He added that while the Punjab Government is providing all necessary assistance, local temple committees, religious organisations, and social service groups are working in close coordination to make the event a grand success.
He appealed to the people of Hoshiarpur and the surrounding areas to attend the grand religious event with their families, seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, and reinforce the message of social unity and brotherhood.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nidhi Kumud Bambah, SP Navneet Kaur, along with officials from various government departments.
