Hisar: Lohri was celebrated grandly at Agroha Dham with a bhajan ceremony, distribution of rewari, peanuts, and sweets, under the chairmanship of Bajrang Garg, National Executive President of Agroha Dham Agroha Vikas Trust. On the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Bajrang Garg distributed rewari, peanuts, and sweets. A large number of people participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Bajrang Garg, National Executive President of Agroha Dham, said that the festival of Lohri is celebrated to express gratitude for the hard work and labor of the farmers. Mr. Garg said that there was a dacoit named Dulla Bhatti at that time. Dulla Bhatti rescued two girls named Sundari and Mundari from oppressors and arranged their marriages.
Dulla Bhatti helped the girls immensely during this difficult time. Dulla Bhatti convinced the boy's family and arranged the marriage of both girls, Sundari and Mundari, by lighting a fire in a forest. Therefore, the festival of Lohri is celebrated with a song that goes, "Sundari-Mundari, who is your protector?" The festival of Lohri is celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially in Haryana, Punjab, and North India.
Lohri is celebrated along with the festivals of Pongal and Makar Sankranti. All these festivals convey the same message of thanking the Almighty God for the abundance on Earth. Girish Shastri performed the puja on the occasion of Lohri.
