Amritsar, December 6 – Dr. Dalvir Singh Pannu, a resident of America, today met Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, and presented him his book ‘Gurmukhi Adab Da Khazana’ in the presence of prominent personalities. This book contains extensive information about the valuable treasure related to Sikh history at the Punjab Public Library Lahore in Pakistan.
On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami appreciated this initiative taken by Dr. Dalvir Singh Pannu and said that this work will prove beneficial for the researchers of Sikh history. He appreciated Dr. Pannu's efforts to preserve the valuable treasure of Sikh history by preparing a separate hall for Punjab literature at the Public Library Lahore and also to prepare a database of it and make this treasure known to the Sangat.
Advocate Dhami said that according to their research, the Punjab Public Library Lahore also includes newspapers describing the information of Sikh eras, which mention that our ancestors had sold their properties to take over the management of Gurdwara Sahibs from the Mahants into Panthic hands, which was the dedication of the Sikhs towards the Guru and Guru Ghars. Dr. Pannu's efforts are an inspiration for new Sikh scholars.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dalvir Singh Pannu said that while visiting ninety-four libraries of the world, he found valuable treasure related to Sikh history at the Punjab Public Library Lahore, which he has tried to make known to the Sangat and researchers. He specially thanked the President of the SGPC, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, saying that he has provided great support from time to time.
On this occasion, apart from the President of the SGPC, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Dr. Chetan Singh, OSD Sardar Satbir Singh, Secretary Sardar Pratap Singh, Sardar Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Deputy Secretary Sardar Harbhajan Singh Wakta, General Manager Sardar Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Bhai Satpal Singh Kohli USA, former Secretaries Sardar Waryam Singh and Sardar Jagjit Singh Jaggi, Manager Sardar Jaspal Singh Dhadde, Additional Manager Sardar Gurvinder Singh Devidaspur, Information Officer Sardar Amritpal Singh, Sardar Jatinder Singh and others were present.
