Hoshiarpur- District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, has issued various prohibitory orders in the district.
The orders issued prohibit the possession of Pregabalin capsules without a license, possession/sale of more than the permitted quantity and sale of this medicine without a doctor's prescription in the district. Legal action will be taken against those violating these orders.
According to another order, no person shall carry weapons in public gatherings, religious places, wedding parties/weddings, marriage palaces or other functions within the district limits and there shall be a complete ban on the display of weapons in public/social media and there shall also be a complete ban on playing songs glorifying weapons or violence. In case of violation of these orders, appropriate legal action shall be taken. Apart from this, the owners of marriage palaces shall ensure that no person shall use weapons during functions in marriage palaces.
Similarly, the sarpanches of all the villages of the district have been instructed to keep a vigil in the villages at night so that no incident can be carried out by the miscreants.
Apart from this, there will be a ban on running illegal hookah bars within the district limits because such hookah bars use tobacco, cigarettes and chemicals harmful to the human body, which proves to be very harmful to human health and also has a negative impact on the society.
Similarly, a ban has also been imposed on the unauthorized storage, transportation, use or sale of semen in Hoshiarpur district. This ban will not apply to all veterinary institutions of the Animal Husbandry Department including Animal Hospitals/Dispensaries and Polyclinics, Animal Husbandry Department Punjab, Artificial Insemination Centre of Milkfed and College of Veterinary Science, Gadwasu Ludhiana, any other Artificial Insemination Centre using bovine semen processed and supplied or imported by the Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab, members of Progressive Dairy Farms Association, Punjab, who have imported bovine semen only for the use of their animals. All these orders will remain in force till 7th November 2025.
