Garhshankar:- Continuous efforts are being made by the Punjab Government to promote sports in the state and to inspire the youth toward the right direction. In this sequence, a modern sports ground equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, constructed at a cost of ?43.22 lakh in village Sadhowal, was inaugurated today by the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, Sardar Jai Krishan Singh Rauri, by cutting the ribbon.
During the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Speaker Rauri addressed the gathering, stating that the role of youth is extremely important in the progress of Punjab and it is the need of the hour to motivate them towards sports. He said that sports grounds are not just places to play, but they also strengthen discipline, healthy living, and the spirit of teamwork.
He mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is working on a large scale to strengthen the sports infrastructure in villages and cities. The construction of these sports grounds will provide high-level facilities to the youth of the area, enabling them to participate in state and national level sports and bring fame to their village and the country.
Deputy Speaker Rauri also stated that such sports grounds will prove helpful in leading the youth toward the right path in the fight against drugs. He appealed to the youth to participate enthusiastically in sports and maintain their physical health.
On this occasion, the Panchayat of village Sadhowal, dignitaries of the area, sports enthusiasts, and a large number of youth were present. The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker Rauri, stating that this sports ground is a huge gift for the village which will prove beneficial for future generations.
Finally, Deputy Speaker Rauri instructed the departmental officials to ensure the maintenance and proper management of the sports ground so that the youth can take full advantage of it.
