Garhshankar, June 14:- Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Raudi today attended the grand volleyball tournament organized in his native village Raudi as the chief guest and invited the youth to join sports. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Raudi announced a special grant of Rs 10 lakh to give further impetus to the development works of the village, which was warmly welcomed by the people present.
Addressing the event, Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Raudi said that the Punjab government is fully committed to connecting the youth with sports and for the all-round development of the villages. He said that sports not only keep the youth away from drugs, but also instill the qualities of discipline, team spirit and leadership.
He said that he will always strive for the development of his native village Raudi and every legitimate demand of the villagers will be fulfilled on priority basis. Deputy Speaker Raudi said that the announced grant of Rs. 10 lakh will further strengthen the development works in the village and better facilities will be available to the people. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Raudi honored the winner and runner-up players of the tournament by giving away prizes and said that they will always play a leading role for the welfare of sports and youth.
