SAS Nagar, August 3:- Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal today chaired a comprehensive review meeting alongwith Chairman, District Traders Commission, Mr. Ranjit Pal Singh, to assess the status of grievances and pending issues of traders and shopkeepers pertaining to various government departments. The meeting was held at the District Administrative Complex.
Reviewing each issue in detail, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments concerned to ensure the disposal of pending matters within a fixed timeline. She observed that a majority of the grievances pertained to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and the Local Government Department and instructed the respective authorities to expedite their resolution.
Ms. Mittal emphasized that issues falling within the jurisdiction of district-level authorities should be resolved without delay, while matters requiring policy-level intervention would be taken up by the District Administration with the State Government for appropriate action.
The meeting also deliberated upon issues raised by the Mohali Industries Association regarding the industrial area. The concerned departments were directed to initiate necessary remedial measures in a time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed the Departments of Health and Family Welfare, Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Mandi Board, and the Municipal Corporation, Mohali, to address all pending concerns at the earliest.
Highlighting the importance of providing better civic amenities in market areas, Ms. Mittal directed the concerned departments to ensure proper maintenance of public washrooms, parking facilities, and street lighting to facilitate traders and the general public.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, District Traders Commission, Mr. Ranjit Pal Singh, urged all departments to discharge their responsibilities with greater efficiency and resolve public grievances promptly. He informed that the Punjab State Traders Commission, under the leadership of Finance Minister S. Harpal Singh Cheema, would shortly conduct a state-level review of traders' issues. He, therefore, stressed that there should be no unnecessary pendency of cases in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district.
