Una, July 28: On the auspicious occasion of the holy month of *Sawan* (Shravan), Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri performed special prayers and rituals—accompanied by the chanting of Vedic mantras—at the ancient Banaude Mahadev Shiva Temple in Chatada. He offered prayers for the happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, and well-being of the people of the state.
Vivek Sharma, MLA from the Kutlehar Assembly constituency, and Ankush Thakur, Range Officer of the Forest Department, were also specially present on this occasion.
Upon his arrival, the Deputy Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by representatives of the temple committee and the Chatada Gram Panchayat. Gram Panchayat Pradhan Ashwani Kumar, Up-Pradhan Chanchal Kumar, Dinesh Sharma, Mandeep Sangh, Ridham Thakur, Ritesh Sharma, Jeevan Singh, Deepak Bagga, Rajiv Dhiman, and other local dignitaries were present. The temple priest conducted the worship rituals amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The Deputy Chief Minister remarked that the month of *Sawan* is a time of immense spiritual significance dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. He prayed to Lord Bholenath that an atmosphere of happiness, peace, and prosperity prevails in the state and that the lives of all citizens are filled with health, joy, and well-being.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister also planted a *Bilva* (Bel) sapling within the temple premises, conveying a message of environmental conservation.
Subsequently, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the construction work of the Shri Banaude Mahadev *Gaushala* (cow shelter) by performing formal rituals. He stated that cow service is an integral part of Indian culture and *Sanatan* tradition, and the development of such facilities would further strengthen religious and social values.
After the prayers, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted warmly with the devotees and local residents present at the temple complex, inquired about their well-being, and engaged in cordial conversations regarding various issues concerning the area.
