Ambala, 1 September:- On the occasion of International Sports Day, DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Ambala City organized various inter-house sports competitions to promote sportsmanship, discipline, team work and healthy life style among students. About 400 students participated in these competitions.
School's sports teacher Jagtar Singh said that volleyball, badminton and chess competitions were organized for students. In the final of volleyball, Green House faced Blue House. In boys' badminton category, Blue House and Green House were winners. In girls' Under-17 category, Blue House defeated Green House to win the title.
In the final of Under-17 girls' chess competition, Green House defeated Blue House to secure first position. In the final of boys' category, Green House and Yellow House had a close contest, in which Yellow House was winner.
On this occasion, Principal of the school Dr. Radha Raman Suri encouraged students to actively participate in sports. He said that sports not only enhance physical fitness but also develop self-confidence, leadership skills, discipline and spirit of cooperation.
