Khanna:- Khanna Police has succeeded in busting a big gang of cyber fraudsters operating at an international level and arresting 9 accused. SSP Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia said that this gang has committed financial fraud worth about Rs 78.05 crore so far.
The police took this action after investigating 53 suspected ‘mule’ accounts, out of which an amount of more than Rs 43 lakh has been frozen. The arrested accused belong to different states like Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and West Bengal, who used to move black money here and there using the bank accounts of unsuspecting people.
According to the police, more than 200 complaints have been registered against these accused in different states of the country. During the investigation, it was found that these fraudsters used to trap people by sending links or through OTP. The SSP has appealed to the people not to share their personal data with any unknown person and to immediately call the cyber helpline number 1930\B in case of any suspicious activity. The police are now investigating the remaining accounts of this gang to reach the roots of this network.
