Una, December 22: Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has appealed to all residents of Una district to cooperate in developing Una into a well-organized, safe, and model district for development. He emphasized the need to strike a practical balance between business interests and public convenience through dialogue and cooperation.
The Deputy Commissioner was presiding over a meeting held on Monday at the DRDA Hall in Una with representatives of the district's trade associations and various business units.
The meeting was attended by State Trade Association President Sumesh Kumar Sharma, State General Secretary Rakesh Kailash, President of Una City Trade Association Prince Rajput, Joint Trade Organization President Ashwani Jaitik, and representatives from Gagret, Daulatpur, and Mehatpur trade associations.
During the meeting, the traders presented their suggestions and practical problems regarding the no-parking and no-vending zone system implemented in Una city and other major markets of the district to the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner listened attentively to the traders' concerns and clarified that the administration's objective is not to cause inconvenience to anyone, but to improve the city's infrastructure. He said that the business community of Una district is like family to him, and addressing their problems is among the administration's priorities. Positive suggestions are being considered to make the system more effective, keeping in mind the practical difficulties faced by the traders, so that unnecessary inconvenience can be avoided.
The Deputy Commissioner said that proper organization in the markets is essential to provide a safe and convenient environment for citizens. Ensuring public safety is a primary responsibility of the administration. Under this, special attention is being paid to strict adherence to road safety rules, the safety of pedestrians, smooth traffic management, and the prevention of road accidents. For this purpose, strict action is being taken against speeding, encroachment, and illegal parking.
He informed that these steps have yielded positive results. Road accidents have decreased, and the traffic system has become smoother than before. He said that designated vending zones have been established for street vendors so that they can have dignified and organized employment opportunities. Work is also underway to develop new vending zones to provide adequate facilities for farmers in the district to sell their produce.
The Deputy Commissioner said that it is essential to instill fear of the law in anti-social elements and a sense of security among ordinary citizens. This strict approach is not against anyone, but a step taken in the public interest.
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav said that a strong law and order system, smooth traffic flow, and a sense of security among citizens are essential for making a district and city well-organized, safe, and economically strong. When the system is clear and effective, citizens' trust increases, trade is encouraged, and the district and city move towards national standards of development. He also appealed to all sections of society for their cooperation.
