Pehowa (Haryana):- The echo of spiritual and historical traditions can still be heard in the seat of Gangaram Ji present at the holy Saraswati Tirath located in the ancient religious city of Pehowa. Senior journalist Daljit Aznoha had a special meeting with the chief priest of Deepak Shastri Saraswati Tirath at this holy place and got detailed information about the history, ancient customs and ritual methods here.
The chief priest said that this pilgrimage place is famous for the peace and salvation of the souls of those who have died prematurely since ancient times. According to religious legends, in the Treta Yuga, Lord Shri Ram Chandra performed Shraddha at this holy shrine for the peace of his father King Dasharatha's soul after his untimely death. This context is associated with the Ramayana. Since then, the ritual of Pindaan and Shraddha has been going on here continuously. Devotees believe that due to the special glory of this shrine, the fruits of the rituals performed here are multiplied many times over.
According to another mythological legend, in the Dwapar Yuga, King Dasharatha brought the Pandavas to this shrine so that the rituals could be performed according to the method for the peace of the souls of the Kauravas killed in the Mahabharata war. This context further increases the importance of this shrine.
The chief priest said that a large number of devotees from the country and abroad come here to perform Pindaan and Shraddha for the peace of the souls of their ancestors. A huge crowd is seen here especially on Amavas, Pitra Paksha and other religious occasions.
