Una, February 18:- Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has directed that ongoing development works in selected villages in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ??Gram Yojana be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He was chairing a district-level committee meeting organized by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department on Wednesday.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the objective of this scheme is to ensure the overall development of villages where the Scheduled Caste population exceeds 50 percent. Under the scheme, social, economic, and educational infrastructure is being strengthened. He directed that timely and transparent utilization of funds sanctioned under village development schemes be ensured and utilization certificates be submitted promptly.
He informed that 23 villages in the district have already been selected under this scheme, where various development works are in progress. Additionally, 11 new villages in the district—Bah, Dhanobal, Fatehpur, Dhevat-Behad, Jwal, Jwar, Jabehad, Kinnu, Lamlehra, Lamlehri Uparli, and Nahri Khalsa—have been selected in the third phase. He directed that village development plans for these villages be prepared and submitted expeditiously so that development work can be initiated expeditiously.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that priority should be given to works that are not controversial, so that the pace of development is not hampered. He also directed that details of completed works, along with photographs, be mandatorily uploaded to the PMAGY portal.
District Welfare Officer Awas Pandit, District Food and Supply Controller Rajiv Sharma, District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar, District Program Officer (ICDS) Narendra Kumar, Lead Bank Manager Sanjeev Kumar Saxena, Tehsil Welfare Officer Jitendra Sharma, Block Development Officers Amb, Una, and Gagret, along with the heads and secretaries of the respective Gram Panchayats, and officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
