Patiala (Manpreet Singh):- Today, the Gyan Jyoti Education Society (Regd.), a well-known organisation of the royal city of Patiala, carried out a cleanliness drive at Nehru Park under its “Clean Patiala, Green Patiala” campaign to help make the park plastic-free. The society also cleaned the road near the Scooter Market.
The society has been working for the past two and a half decades to promote cleanliness, the campaign “Every Person Should Plant Two Trees,” and environmental conservation. Although society president Upkar Singh is abroad, his team continues to organise cleanliness drives, tree plantation activities, medical camps, the “War Against Drugs” campaign and other cultural programmes across Patiala.
Vinay Sarvar, Deepak Kapoor, Mohan Lal Khanna, Vicky Singh and other members participated in the cleanliness drive.
