Dera Bassi / Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 2: Under the Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Yojana, the 51st and 52nd buses from the Dera Bassi constituency were flagged off today. MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa flagged off these buses from Jawaharpur.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa stated that the pilgrims will visit religious and historical sites, including Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Mandir, Jallianwala Bagh, Valmiki Mandir, Ram Tirath, and the Wagah Border, before returning to Dera Bassi.
He mentioned that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is committed to public welfare and has launched the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, setting a precedent for other states. He added that the promises and guarantees made by the government under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann have been almost entirely fulfilled.
He explained that under this three-day, two-night pilgrimage scheme, facilities such as free AC bus travel, AC accommodation, three meals a day, and tea/snacks are being provided. Each bus is accompanied by an assistant and a medical team to ensure the pilgrims do not face any inconvenience.
He further stated that this scheme is a commendable initiative for senior citizens, and there is great enthusiasm among the elderly across the state. With the efforts made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the development of the state, Punjab is moving forward on the path of progress
