Chandigarh, April 24:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini on Friday reviewed the preparations for NEET (UG) examination to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 3rd November, 2026 from Chandigarh with the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police through video conferencing. He directed that the examination should be conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner at all costs. He also directed that proper arrangements be made for the HCS and allied services examination to be conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission on 26th April.
The Chief Minister said that all basic facilities should be made available to the examinees at the examination centres. 175 examination centres have been set up across the state for the NEET (UG) examination, where 65,000 candidates will appear for the examination. He directed that proper arrangements should be made for parents to stay and park near the examination centres. The transport system should be kept smooth so that no candidate faces any problem in reaching the centre on time. Adequate security arrangements should be made and no negligence should be indulged in duty.
He said that a special watch would be kept on those spreading rumours on social media and strict monitoring should be ensured at the district level as well, so that no one can mislead the candidates. Ambulances equipped with health facilities should be deployed near the examination centres and parking spaces should be identified in advance. Strong arrangements should also be made for the security of the question papers.
The Chief Minister said that the successful management of the recently held CET examination has been appreciated by the Central Government. He directed the officials to ensure that all necessary facilities including drinking water, electricity, toilets are available at the examination centres. All CCTV cameras should be kept functioning smoothly and traffic management should be done effectively. Dial 112 service can also be used to take the examinees to the centre if necessary.
It was informed in the meeting that the GATE (UG) examination will be held in offline mode on May 3 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Examinees will be allowed to enter the examination centres from 11 am to 1:30 pm, after which entry will be closed.
NTA's special arrangements for the convenience of examinees
National Testing Agency Director Abhishek Singh, who joined the meeting through video conferencing, said that all necessary preparations for the examination have been completed. The biometric verification system has been doubled and separate verification counters will be set up for male and female candidates. One security verification counter will be set up for every 100 candidates and one biometric device will be set up for every 48 candidates.
CCTV cameras, jammers and other necessary equipment will be made available at all examination centres by April 30. He also said that the jammers will be activated from 1:45 pm on the day of the examination, so that there is no disruption in the biometric verification process.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Mr. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Dr. Sumita Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Department Mr. A. K. Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Yash Pal, Special Secretary Monitoring and Coordination, Dr. Priyanka Soni and other officials were present.
