Hoshiarpur- As part of the Census 2026-27 process in the district, teams of enumerators were dispatched today by the district administration following the completion of their necessary training. Starting Friday, these teams will visit households door-to-door to collect essential family details for the census.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated that the district administration has dispatched a sufficient number of enumerators to citizens' homes—following extensive training—to ensure the smooth and efficient completion of the census process.
She noted that in Hoshiarpur, the teams were flagged off by SDM Parampreet Singh. These teams will commence their survey operations in their respective designated areas starting Friday. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to extend their full cooperation to the enumerators by providing the necessary information for the census, thereby ensuring the process is completed in an organized manner.
The Deputy Commissioner further explained that, under the census process, families had the option to fill out their details online at https://se.census.gov.in until May 14. Now, enumerators will visit people's homes to collect this information in person. Families who did not fill out their details online can now register their family information through the enumerators.
She emphasized that this process is very easy and simple. A unique mobile number will be registered for each household, the entry for which will be made by the Head of the Family. During this process, the name of the Head of the Family cannot be changed.
In the online process, most of the questions are option-based. Upon registration, an 11-digit code is generated; providing this code to the enumerator will complete the entire census process.
Present on this occasion was the SDM. Paramjit Singh appealed to the citizens to make the census process a success by extending full cooperation to the teams of enumerators.
