Hoshiarpur: Senior Correspondent Daljit Ajnoha held a special interaction with DSP Chabbewal, Bharat Bhushan Saini—who serves as the officer-in-charge of both the Mehtiana and Chabbewal police stations—regarding the legal actions taken under the NDPS Act within his jurisdiction over the past three months. During this interaction, he stated that, under the Punjab government's campaign "War Against Drugs" (*Yudh Nashiyan Virudh*), the police are actively pursuing legal action, and every possible effort is being made to realize the government's objective of a "Drug-Free Punjab."
Detailing the legal actions undertaken by the police over the last three months: at the Chabbewal police station, 18 cases have been registered under various sections of the NDPS Act; 19 accused individuals have been arrested; and 49 grams of heroin, 1.4 kilograms of poppy husk, and 553 narcotic tablets and capsules have been recovered. Similarly, at the Mehtiana police station, 31 cases have been registered; 33 accused individuals have been arrested; and 103.88 grams of heroin, 281 narcotic tablets and capsules, and ?5,150 in drug money have been recovered.
