Hoshiarpur, October 3 (Daljit Ajnoha):- On September 30, the Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which was being operated by Indian-origin Captain Smit Machchhar, narrowly escaped a major tragedy due to the alertness and bravery of Captain Machchhar. Otherwise, the 174 innocent and precious lives on board could have been lost for no reason. Former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sood said that the bravery of pilot Captain Smit Machchhar is being praised across the world. He said that if the aircraft had been crashed into a building as allegedly planned by the co-pilot, it could have resulted in a greater loss of human lives, similar to what happened in the 9/11 attacks.
He said that in the entire episode, the video call between Captain Smit Machchhar and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was extremely significant, during which the pilot said that in that moment of severe crisis, his only objective was to save the 174 precious lives, and for moral strength, he turned to his faith and continuously recited the Hanuman Chalisa. Shri Sood said that the bravery of pilot Machchhar has proved that faith and values can help a person overcome even the most difficult crisis. He said that it was these Indian values that led Captain Smit Machchhar to display courage without caring for his own life, despite being severely injured by the co-pilot with knives, and save the aircraft from crashing. By doing so, Captain Smit Machchhar brought honour to India across the world and set an example of bravery.
