Lehragaga, October 30:- Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal distributed property cards to 1,027 families from three villages of the Lehragaga Assembly constituency under the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme. During functions organised in the villages of Chural Khurd, Ghorenab and Bhaike Pishore, he said that receiving an ownership document for one's home was a moment of satisfaction and pride for families. The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to ensuring that people receive their rightful entitlements.
The Cabinet Minister stated that property cards for residential properties were handed over to 263 families in Chural Khurd, 376 families in Ghorenab and 388 families in Bhaike Pishore. He said that a key objective of the scheme was to provide documentary proof of ownership to families who had been living for a long time in houses situated within the Lal Dora (red line) areas of villages.
Mr. Goyal said that it was extremely important to have a clear ownership record of homes associated with generations of family memories, hard work and emotions. He said that many families had been facing difficulties due to the absence of formal ownership documents, despite having lived in their homes for decades. By providing property cards to such families under the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme, they were being given documentary proof of the identity and ownership of their properties.
He further said that a clear property record was also important for the future of families. These documents could help reduce ambiguity regarding ownership and provide records in matters related to property. In addition, subject to the applicable terms and conditions of banks and other financial institutions, ownership documents could also be helpful when applying for loans, if required.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government was making efforts to ensure that people did not have to face unnecessary inconvenience in obtaining government services and documents related to their entitlements. He directed officials to complete the remaining work related to the scheme in a transparent and time-bound manner and provide people with the necessary information and guidance.
Congratulating the beneficiary families, Mr. Goyal said that the government was working to address people's needs by understanding the issues connected with their everyday lives. He assured them that the process of providing property cards to eligible families in the remaining villages of the constituency would also be taken forward under the scheme.
On the occasion, villagers who received property cards thanked the Punjab Government and the Cabinet Minister, saying that receiving ownership documents for their homes had brought great satisfaction to their families.
Officials from the administration and Revenue Department, panches and sarpanches of the concerned villages, Panchayati representatives and local residents were present at the functions.
