Jalandhar:- Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee says that starting from the Ghadar Party, the construction of Kirti Party Kisan Sabha and Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall and the land of patriots who were active and engaged in activities, as today the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan was made a selective target of the government attack, it has once again reminded us of the oppression that was inflicted on all the activities of the Kisan Morcha of Amritsar, Jallianwala Bagh and Kisan Sabha.
The committee's president Kulwant Singh Sandhu, general secretary Gurmeet Singh and cultural wing convener Amolak Singh have said in a written press statement that the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan had held a peaceful protest in Bathinda today to demand the cancellation of the false cases filed against its farmer activists and their release. To thwart this, they have strongly condemned the village-to-village raids, blockades, tear gas and batons being used on people gathering in the villages since early morning and the police resorting to large-scale attacks, and have strongly demanded that the arrested men and women be released immediately. The committee is of the opinion that the Bhagwant Mann government is actually working to pave the way for the implementation of the Modi government's policies because it is natural for the farmers' movement to rise against the latest American treaty, which will bring about a large-scale destruction in the country's agriculture, horticulture and all other sectors. The government is already pulling out all the stops to stop those jowar bhatts. Today's ruthless attack on the farmers is a part of that series.
The committee has strongly appealed to all democratic and pro-people forces to attend the discussion being held at the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall on February 27 on the occasion of the launch of the Babbar Akali Movement's centenary campaign, where all these questions will be discussed in connection with the relevance of the Babbar Akali Movement.
