Hoshiarpur: The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) celebrated Independence Day with a spirit of patriotism, enthusiasm, and joy. Chief Engineer Rakesh Kumar Gupta hoisted the national flag at the main function held at the Nursery Ground here.
In his address on the occasion, Chief Engineer Rakesh Gupta extended Independence Day greetings to everyone and noted that while the country has made unprecedented progress across various sectors since gaining independence, much remains to be done. He stated that today is a day to strengthen the resolve to contribute to the nation's progress. He urged the youth to work towards nation-building with complete sincerity and dedication.
Appreciating the vital role played by BBMB in the energy sector, he affirmed that on this auspicious occasion, the organization pledges to discharge this role even more effectively in the future. He remarked that if every citizen—regardless of their field of work—performs their duties with hard work, honesty, and total dedication, the country can further solidify its position as a global power.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest inspected the parade and took the salute during the march past. The parade was led by Parade Commander Ranjeet Singh. In addition to the Fire Brigade Service, scouts and NCC cadets from various schools participated in the parade.
During the ceremony, students from BBMB DAV School, Shri Harikrishna Public School, Sarv Hitkari Vidya Mandir, Vishisht Bharti Public School, Government Model School, Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, and Government Senior Secondary School for Boys (Talwara) presented patriotic and cultural performances.
Students who had achieved remarkable success in various fields were specially honored on this occasion. Additionally, mountaineer Parminder Singh and two "wonder kids," Jaspinder Singh and Raminder Singh—who achieved remarkable feats by traversing high and arduous mountain routes at a young age—were also felicitated. The event was anchored by SDO Dharmendra Singh and Ms. Geetanjali.

Seema Gupta, Deputy Chief Engineer Vimal Meena, Manveen Chaudhary, Ajit Kumar, Additional Superintending Engineers Vinay Kumar and Arvinder Pal Singh Ubhi, Executive Engineer Gaurav Lamba, SDOs Dheeraj Kumar and Gopal, Principal Rohit Salaria, Superintendent Tilak Raj Sharma, and Junior Engineers Gulshan Kumar, Raju, Jatin, and Baljit Singh, along with other officials and staff members.
