Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 30 January:- Keeping public safety as the top priority, the District Administration, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, has imposed a ban on the sale, purchase, storage, and use of synthetic/plastic string (Chinese string).
Providing information in this regard, District Magistrate Mrs. Komal Mittal, IAS, stated that the use of Chinese string during kite flying has resulted in people suffering cuts to their hands and fingers, cyclists and scooter riders sustaining serious injuries to their necks and ears, and posing a threat to the lives of flying birds. Considering these dangers, this step has been taken.
By exercising the powers conferred under Chapter 11 (under Section 163) of The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023), the District Magistrate has ordered that this ban shall remain in force with immediate effect from 24 January 2026 to 23 March 2026 in both the urban and rural areas of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.
The District Administration has appealed to the general public to completely refrain from using Chinese string, keeping in mind their own safety and that of others, and to ensure strict compliance with the orders issued by the District Administration.
