Bahujan Samaj Party staged a protest outside the DC office submitted a memorandum to the President Demanding that the ADGP suicide case be handed over to the CBI

SAS Nagar, October 13: Bahujan Samaj Party today staged a protest near the office of the Deputy Commissioner Mohali under the leadership of BSP State General Secretary Harbhajan Singh Bajheri and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in the name of the President of the country, demanding that justice be provided to the victim's family by immediately intervening in the matter related to the death of Haryana's ADGP IPS officer Shri Y Puran Kumar (who was found dead at his residence in Chandigarh on October 7).
The protest was presided over by District President Harkadas Dhaliwal. They were accompanied by Jagtar Singh, Bakshish Singh Gangar, Surinder Singh Derabassi District Incharge, Sucha Singh Saneta District Vice President, Gurpreet Singh District General Secretary, Beg Singh, Parkash Singh District Secretary, Ravinder Kumar District Coordinator BVF, Jaspal Singh, Hakam Singh, Charanjit Singh Halka President, Harjinder Singh, Karamjit Singh Carrier, Dr. Jagtar Singh, Harinder Singh Halka General Secretary, Sukhdev Singh Bathinda, Balraj Singh, Hardwari, Suresh Kumar, Jaswinder Singh, Ram Kumar Nafra, Master Jagdish Singh, Bibi Mamta, Roop Singh and a large number of other workers/supporters.
The letter said that the alleged suicide of a senior IPS officer has shaken the country. This is a very sad and serious incident, which is particularly shameful for a well-off government and proves that despite many claims, casteism remains rampant. The deceased officer, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste, has detailed the continuous atrocities and systemic atrocities since 2020, which finally forced him to take this extreme step.
The Bahujan Samaj Party has demanded that a high-level, independent inquiry be conducted into the cause of death of late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar under the supervision of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) and an FIR be immediately registered against all those named in the suicide note and the subsequent complaint under relevant provisions of the BNS, 2023 and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
The family members of the deceased officer, especially his wife, Dr. Amnest P. Kumar, IAS, should be ensured protection from any form of retaliation, threat or intimidation.
