Hoshiarpur- As part of the initiative to take education beyond the confines of the classroom and make it more interesting and practical, “Bagless Day” was successfully organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Dholbaha (Hoshiarpur). Students enthusiastically participated in social science activities on this special day.
The program was organized under the able supervision of School Incharge Subhash Sharma, in which teachers Ranjit Kaur, Reema Ma’am, Madhu, Vipin Kaushal, Deepika and Preeti played the lead roles. Together, they ensured a creative and informative day for the children.
The program began with the children showcasing their talent in poetry recitation. The poems recited by the students enthralled everyone. This was followed by an impressive role play based on a very contemporary topic: “Safe Internet Use”. Through this play, the children explained the importance of online safety, preventing cyberbullying and protecting personal information.
Various games were also organised to make the SST subject enjoyable. These games included quiz competitions on Indian History, Geography and Civics, which tested the knowledge of the students and made the learning process fun.
School Incharge Subhash Sharma praised the efforts of the team of teachers and said, “Initiatives like Bagless Day provide practical learning opportunities to the students. The way Ms. Ranjit Kaur and other teachers taught important topics like SST and safety through activities is commendable.”
This successful event proved that important knowledge can be imparted to the students without making education a burden.
