Hoshiarpur:- The football tournament in memory of late Manjit Singh Lali was started by the Sports Club of village Langeri with the support of the city residents and NRIs under the leadership of NRI Manpreet Singh Manna, England. Gurdev Singh Gill, Arjuna Awardee, attended as the chief guest and blessed the players. In the inaugural matches held today, the team from village Kheda defeated the team from village Kandowal by 8-7 on penalty kicks, the team from village Gogarhon defeated Mazara Digriyan by 3-1, and the team from Mahilpur defeated the team from Pind Bham by 5-4 and entered the next round.
