Haroli/Una, March 1 (Rajveer Chopra): The annual Barsi Samagam of Baba Roti Ram Ji was celebrated with great devotion, faith, and religious fervour at Dera Baba Roti Ram, located in Kante village of the Haroli Assembly constituency.
From early morning, the dera premises resonated with the soulful recitation of Gurbani, followed by the ceremonial Bhog of Guru Granth Sahib. A grand Kirtan Darbar was later organized by revered saints, in which devotees from far-off places participated with deep reverence.
Addressing the congregation, Sant Baba Kulwant Ram quoted lines from Gurbani, stating:
"Jithe jaaye behai mera Satguru so thaan suhaava Ram raaje,
O dharti bhaagan wali hai jithe saadhu baith jaata hai,"
emphasizing that any place blessed by the presence of a saint becomes sacred and fortunate.

He shared that Baba Roti Ram Ji had performed intense penance at this very holy site. At that time, the entire region was covered with dense forests inhabited by wild animals such as lions and leopards. However, it is believed that even wild creatures remained calm before the spiritual power and deep meditation of Baba Ji. Today, the site has become a major center of faith, attracting lakhs of devotees every year who come to pay obeisance. The dera is said to be approximately 350 years old.
Sant Baba Kulwant Ram further stated that, as every year, the Guru ka Langar was served with love, devotion, and a spirit of selfless service. Thousands of devotees from Punjab and neighboring states attended the samagam to seek blessings.
The successful organization of the event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Dera Baba Roti Ram Management Committee, including President Prakash Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Rama, Tarlochan, Jagjit Singh, Charanjit, Chattar Singh, Makhan Singh, and other volunteers who rendered their services wholeheartedly.
