Ambala, July 23: In a significant move regarding a fraud case involving approximately ?2 crore—perpetrated by luring the victim with the promise of doubling their money—the City Police have arrested two accused individuals from Zirakpur, Punjab. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kulbir Singh and Balwinder Singh, residents of Pandwala village under the Dera Bassi police station jurisdiction. The police produced both accused before the court, which remanded them to police custody for interrogation.
Sub-Inspectors Salinder Kumar and Jarnail Singh, who led the team from Police Post No. 5 handling the case, stated that the complainant, Pradeep Kumar—a resident of Milap Nagar, Manav Chowk, Ambala City—had lodged a complaint at the Ambala City police station on July 18. He alleged that the accused had defrauded him of approximately ?2 crore by enticing him with the promise of doubling his investment.
According to the police, the accused were traced following a preliminary investigation and subsequently arrested in Zirakpur, Punjab. Both individuals will undergo thorough interrogation during the police remand period. Investigating agencies aim to determine where the proceeds of the fraud were invested or spent and to identify others involved in the network.
During interrogation, the accused will be taken to various locations to gather evidence, and the roles of other individuals involved in the case will also be investigated. Officials believe that significant revelations are likely to emerge during the remand period.
