Karnal, November 28th: ??As per the decision taken by the Haryana government, it has been decided to celebrate the district-level Geeta Jayanti festival in a grand manner this year as well. This year, the grand district-level Geeta Jayanti festival will be held from November 29th to December 1st, 2025, at the Dr. Mangalsen Auditorium.
Union Minister of Energy, Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, will be the chief guest on November 29th at 2:30 pm to inaugurate the Geeta Jayanti festival and the exhibition. The event will be graced by the presence of Geeta scholar Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj. Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh, teams led by senior officials have been formed and assigned responsibilities to ensure the successful organization of this festival.
This information was provided by Monica Sharma, City Magistrate and overall in-charge of the district-level Geeta Jayanti festival. He informed that a committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Karnal, to manage the exhibitions, tents, stalls, and stage for the District Level Festival-2025. He stated that the SDM Nilokheri will chair the committee for the recitation of Shlokas, and the District Information and Public Relations Officer has been appointed the nodal officer for the cultural program, and will organize the Havan Yagya, Bhagwat Katha, and Sunder Kand. The Managing Director of Sugar Mills, Karnal, has been appointed the nodal officer for the Gita Seminar.
He informed that on December 1st, at 6 p.m., the District Development and Panchayat Officer, Karnal, and the Executive Engineer, Panchayati Raj, Karnal, will ensure the arrangements for the Deepotsav at all the pilgrimage sites in Karnal district, under the guidance of the City Magistrate, Karnal. Furthermore, he will ensure the participation of as many public representatives and religious/social organizations as possible in this program.
Similarly, the Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Karnal will ensure that arrangements for stalls and exhibitions are made during the Geeta Mahotsav. Furthermore, they will ensure that all stalls and exhibitions are ready at least one hour before the event.
He further informed that the District Information and Public Relations Officer, Karnal, will prepare the outline for this district-level event, arrange for mementos and certificates, arrange for videography for the event, and will also ensure the installation of LED screens to broadcast the live Geeta Mahotsav Kurukshetra program.
They will also ensure widespread publicity of the event among the public through all local news channels, radio, social media, newspapers, and flex platforms, and will install a backdrop for the event. The District Information and Public Relations Officer, Karnal, will ensure that adequate arrangements for refreshments and refreshments are made for guests and participants at the event venue, as directed by the City Magistrate, Karnal.
Additionally, the District Information and Public Relations Officer, Karnal, will ensure live connectivity during the recitation of shlokas at the venue on December 1st from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. He informed that the District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Department, Karnal, will arrange for rangoli at the venue. The District Horticulture Officer, Karnal, will ensure the planting of potted plants and decorations at the venue.
He informed that the Sub-Divisional Commissioner, Karnal, will arrange for temporary toilets at the venue and for cleanliness throughout the event. The Executive Engineer, Public Health Department, Division No. 1, Karnal, will arrange for drinking water at the venue. The Civil Surgeon, Karnal, will ensure the availability of an ambulance and a team of doctors during the district-level event.
The District Food Safety Officer, Karnal, will ensure the quality of prasad and refreshments at the exhibition venue is checked. The Tehsildar, Karnal, will personally ensure proper arrangements for welcoming guests at the venue. The Fire Station Officer, Karnal, will ensure the availability of fire engines at the venue.
He further stated that the District Education Officer, Karnal, will ensure student participation during the festival and will ensure that mementos and certificates are provided to participating students. Furthermore, the District Education Officer will ensure that the list of students or participants to be honored (by the Education Department) is sent to the stage director and the Public Relations Department well in advance.
The District Education Officer will ensure the participation of approximately 1,500 students during the recitation of the Shlokas on December 1st and will also ensure that cultural programs are prepared by school students. The Urban Project Officer, Karnal, and the District Program Manager, Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Karnal, will ensure that self-help groups, under the National Rural Urban Livelihood Mission, will set up craft stalls for local artisans at the exhibition during the Gita Mahotsav.
The District Higher Education Officer, Karnal, will organize Gita-themed seminars in colleges during this event. The General Manager, Haryana State Transport, Karnal, will coordinate with the District Education Officer during the event and ensure the necessary buses are arranged for school children to travel to and from the event venue. The District Information and Science Officer, NIC, Karnal, will ensure the creation of an online link for the Gita Shloka recitation program to be held on December 1st during the district-level Gita Jayanti Festival.
All department heads should attend the event in person and ensure their subordinate officers/employees are also directed to participate. The Police Department should ensure the deployment of the required number of police personnel, including women police personnel, at the venue for security during this District-Level Festival 2025.
In addition, the required number of traffic police personnel will be deployed on the roads surrounding the event venue, Dr. Mangalsen Auditorium, Karnal, to maintain smooth traffic flow.
