Bangana/Una, June 25: A steady stream of devotees visited the Lord Shri Narsingh Dev Temple on the second day of the historic district-level Piplu Fair. People participated enthusiastically in the cultural programs, exhibitions, and various other attractions organized at the fair.
MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu, representing the Chintpurni Assembly constituency, attended the second day of the fair as the chief guest, accompanied by his wife, Kirandeep Kaur. Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma and his wife, Mrs. Mridu Sharma, welcomed and felicitated him.
In his address, MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu stated that fairs like Piplu serve as a vibrant testament to our rich cultural heritage, religious faith, and folk traditions. Such events strengthen brotherhood, unity, and social harmony within society. He commended the fair committee, the administration, and the local residents for the successful organization of the event.
He mentioned that fresh momentum is being given to the beautification and comprehensive development of the Mata Chintpurni Temple. Work on development projects worth approximately ?206 crore will commence in the first phase, with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu set to inaugurate them soon. He added that there is a plan to spend around ?1,000 crore on the holistic development and beautification of the Chintpurni region over the coming years.
MLA Vivek Sharma stated that efforts are underway to organize the Piplu Fair in a more systematic and grand manner, in line with public expectations. He informed that a modern fairground is being developed in Piplu at a cost of approximately ?1 crore to ensure better facilities for future editions of the fair. He noted that development works to strengthen road connectivity, healthcare, drinking water supply, and other basic amenities in Kutlehar are progressing steadily. He also urged the local residents to participate enthusiastically in the 'Star Night' event of the Kutlehar Mahotsav, scheduled to be held at Bhalet on June 26.
**Dog Show Becomes the Center of Attraction**
Among the various activities organized at the fair, the dog show held on Thursday emerged as a major attraction. Trained dogs of various breeds entertained the audience with their impressive feats. A large crowd, including children, cheered enthusiastically for the participants amidst thunderous applause.
Throughout the day, crowds also thronged the developmental exhibitions set up by various departments, as well as the stalls selling local products and other goods. The administration and the fair committee had made adequate arrangements to ensure the convenience and safety of the devotees and to maintain smooth operations.
Block Congress President Vivek Minka, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Sonu Goyal, Block Development Officer K.L. Verma, DSP Ajay Thakur, Station House Officer Rohit Chaudhary, officials from various departments, members of the fair committee, and a large number of devotees and local residents were present on the occasion.
