Nawanshahr- The 69th Punjab State Inter-District School Games in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, including the Kabaddi National Style Age Group Under-19 Girls Tournament, began at the indoor stadium in village Bhangal Kalan, Nawanshahr, under the leadership of District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Anita Sharma and Deputy District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Lakhvir Singh.
This state-level tournament was inaugurated by Lalit Mohan Pathak Ballu Halka Incharge Nawanshahr. In his address on the occasion, Pathak blessed the players and said that sports are an integral part of student life. He said that sports are the only way for the all-round development of a student.
Apart from this, sports also keep us away from social diseases, it is the need of the hour that our students should get involved in sports and stay away from terrible social evils like drugs. On this occasion, he said that sports increase mutual love and brotherhood among us and also create discipline. He said that today our country and state have started moving forward a lot in the field of sports.
On this occasion, he said that the new sports policy made by the Punjab government for schools has also started yielding very meaningful results and now there is a lot of inclination of students and teachers towards sports in schools which is a very good thing for the coming time. Pathak said that a child who gets involved in sports at the school level will one day reach the international level.
On this occasion, Anita Sharma District Education Officer (Senior Secondary), Deputy District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Lakhwari Singh and Davinder Kaur District Sports Coordinator welcomed the teams and guests from outside and appealed to play sports in a disciplined manner. In the preliminary league matches held today, Tarn Taran defeated Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana defeated Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ferozepur defeated Sangrur, S.A.S. Nagar defeated Malerkotla, Patiala defeated Muktsar, and Rupnagar defeated Moga.
On this occasion, he was accompanied by Headmaster Parvinder Singh Bhangal, State Award winner General Secretary DTC, District Sports Coordinator Davinder Kaur, Principal Rajnis Kumar, State Award winner Principal Dr. Surinder Pal Agnihotri, S.S. Langroa, Principal Daljit Singh Bola, Principal Paramjit Kaur, Principal Alka Rani, Principal Dev Raj Pojewal, Head Master Gurpreet Singh, Head Master Amarpreet Singh Johar, Head Master Gurnek Singh, Head Master Baljit Kumar, Navdeep Kumar, Amarjit Singh, Aman Kumar, Dr. Sandeep Kumari, Baldev Singh Sidhu Camp Manager, Baldev Raj Sarabjit Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Navdeep Singh, Balvir Singh Mileu, Kuldeep Kumar, etc. along with DPE, PTI and officials were present.
