Hoshiarpur:- As part of the year-long series of events dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purab (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, the Punjab government is screening a documentary based on Guru Ji's life and teachings in villages across the state. Following the flag-off ceremony conducted by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann recently, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar flagged off a van today for the villages of the Chabbewal assembly constituency upon its arrival in the district.
While flagging off the van from the District Administrative Complex, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that the Punjab government is organizing various religious programs to ensure that as many people as possible are informed about Guru Ji’s life. He mentioned that this van will visit every village in the Chabbewal constituency to screen the documentary.
The van will screen the film in two villages daily, starting with the villages of Sahri and Kahri. He noted that Guru Ji dedicated his entire life to the welfare of humanity, mutual harmony, communal unity, and social equality—a message that remains of special significance in the modern era, and one that we must all uphold.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar further explained that these vans, which will reach every village in Punjab, are equipped with a large 12x8 foot LED screen. Through this, a 30-minute documentary will inform people about Guru Ji’s teachings in an effective and meaningful way. He urged the younger generation to strengthen communal unity and always remain ready for the welfare of all by following the teachings of our great Gurus, spiritual leaders, and saints.
He also mentioned that the Punjab government’s 'Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme' is ongoing, under which individuals over 50 years of age are being taken for pilgrimages to religious sites, with buses carrying hundreds of devotees daily. Assistant Commissioner Sumit Mudh was also present on the occasion.
