Karnal, January 8: IGNOU Regional Director Dr. Dharam Pal informed that Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students are eligible for a 50% fee concession in certain courses at IGNOU, such as BAM, BComF, and BScM. To avail this concession, students must meet certain eligibility criteria, including having an annual parental/guardian income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakh and possessing a valid SC/ST certificate.
Interested students must submit a valid income certificate and SC/ST certificate, issued by the respective state government and central/state government. Students are required to apply online through the admission link provided on the official IGNOU website: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. They will need to upload the necessary documents, such as the income certificate and SC/ST certificate.

Dr. Dharam Pal stated that Indira Gandhi National Open University is committed to providing quality education to its students. Considering the needs of students from reserved categories, the university has waived 50% of the fees for undergraduate courses for SC/ST students.
This initiative aims to enable students from SC/ST categories to pursue higher education through IGNOU and join the mainstream of society. Students are required to create a UGC DEB ID for admission. The last date for admission is January 31, 2026.
