Bijapur (Chhattisgarh):- 34 Naxalites surrendered today in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, out of which 26 had a reward of Rs 84 lakh. Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav said that 34 people, including seven women, surrendered before senior police and CRPF officials here as part of a rehabilitation initiative.
He said that these cadres were active in the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC), Telangana State Committee and Andhra Odisha Border Division of Maoists. The key cadres include Pandru Punem (45), Rukni Hemla (25), Deva Uika (22), Ramlal Poyam (27) and Motu Punem (21).
All of whom carry a reward of Rs 8 lakh. He said that the cadres who surrender under the rehabilitation policy will be provided immediate assistance of Rs 50,000 along with other facilities provided by the Chhattisgarh government.
