Una, March 16 (Paigam-E-Jagat): The 20th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held today (Monday) with great joy and enthusiasm at Sant Baba Dhangu Wale Gurjar Government College, Beetan. The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. During the event, the college's meritorious and talented students were honored for their outstanding performance in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities.
Addressing the students on this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that students should actively participate in sports and athletic activities alongside their academic studies. Sports not only make the body healthy and strong but also play a pivotal role in mental development. Furthermore, sports foster discipline, self-confidence, and team spirit—qualities that prepare students to face the challenges of the future.

*Haroli Reaching New Heights in the Field of Education*
The Deputy Chief Minister remarked that the Haroli Assembly constituency is consistently scaling new heights in the field of education. He noted that this college was originally established by Sant Baba Dhangu Wale; subsequently, the government took over its administration and developed it into a full-fledged government college, thereby providing students in the region with enhanced opportunities for higher education.
He further added that, with the objective of ensuring that young women from the Haroli constituency do not have to travel long distances to pursue higher education, a college has been opened in Khadd, and a new college building is currently under construction in Haroli as well. Through these initiatives, students are gaining access to quality educational facilities right in the vicinity of their homes. 

**Goal to Make Haroli the State's Most Developed Assembly Constituency by 2027**
Mr. Agnihotri stated that continuous efforts are underway to transform the Haroli Assembly constituency into the most developed constituency in the state by the year 2027. As part of this initiative, facilities related to roads, electricity, water, healthcare, and education are being strengthened. He further noted that approximately 35 petrol pumps and several gas agencies in the Haroli region are currently providing excellent services to the public.

**Promoting Sports Facilities**
Mukesh Agnihotri highlighted that sports facilities in Haroli are being modernized to give a boost to sports activities. In this regard, approval has been granted for the installation of floodlights at the Beetan Ground at a cost of ?50 lakh, which will now enable the hosting of day-night matches at the venue. Additionally, floodlights are set to be installed at the Nagnoli Ground at a cost of ?50 lakh, while floodlights have already been successfully installed at the Khadd Football Ground, also at a cost of ?50 lakh.
Furthermore, a sum of ?2 crore each has been sanctioned for the beautification of ponds in Beetan and Heera; this initiative is expected to boost tourism and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the region. He added that ?1,000 crore is being expended on drinking water and irrigation schemes to ensure an adequate and uninterrupted water supply for the residents.
During the event, students presented a vibrant cultural program. Encouraging the students who performed in the cultural program, the Deputy Chief Minister announced a contribution of ?51,000 from his discretionary fund.
During the program, the college Principal, Dr. Samiksha, presented the annual report, providing an overview of the college's achievements and activities.
